Yes that's right guys! You don't read that wrong. NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) will bomb the moon with a spacecraft this coming Friday, October 9 at 10am EDT. They will use Lunar Crater Observation and its Sensing Satellite (LCROSS), a $79 million worth spacecraft to "attack" the moon and check if how much ice / water can be found beyond the surface / craters of the heavenly body.
This will be a twin crafts mission where the first one will hit the lunar surface at around 6,000 mph, NASA expects "plumes of moon dust — perhaps full of ice — (to soar) 6.2 miles high above the moon's Cabeus crater" then followed by another craft that is taking the live explosion.
