Settings for Vodafone Mobile Connect for Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone.

Vodafone mobile connect service is the Internet service provided by Vodafone Essar company in India. It was formally known as Hutch Access.
Through this service you can get unlimited surfing for just a monthly rental of Rs. 499/- (as the customer care tells u).

To get it you need a postpaid mobile connection. Then you need to activate it. You can do it in three ways :

1. By sending an sms to 111. The message will be : Act VMC499 (you can also send Act HA499)
2. By calling 111.
3. By logging on to My vodafone Website (Through www.vodafone.in)

Note: Vodafone Mobile Connect is different from Vodafone Live as Vodafone Live is free service with only data usage charges applied (10 paise per 10 kb) and it helps in surfing net on mobile, whereas through Vodafone Mobile Connect you can surf net through your pc or laptop.

Now considering you have activated the Vodafone Mobile Conect Service. You must recieve the settings, but if not you can send message www to 56789. The settings will be sent to you. If not then contact Customer Care.

For Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone the settings are as:

On Mobile (Sony Ericsson "W" Series mobiles, here the cell phone is W550i):

1. Goto Menu->Settings->Connectivity->Data Comm.->Data Accounts->New Account
2. Now create a new account named www
3. In the APN type www
4. Leave other settings as they are. Then save the settings.

On PC (using USB Cable)(For WinXP) :

1. Install the PC Suit provided with the mobile phone (if not previously installed). This will install two Modems in you Telephone and Modems.
2. Connect your mobile phone and select phone mode.
3. Now Goto Control Panel->Phone and Modem Options->Modems
4. Select the Sony Ericsson W550 USB WMC Data Modem (In this case its W550)
5. Select Properties.
6. Select Advance and in Extra initializing command type the following : at+cgdcont=1,"ip","www"
7. Now Goto Control Panel->Network Connections
8. Select Create a New Connection
9. In the New connection Wizard Select Connect to the Internet -> Set up my connection Manually -> Connect using Dialup Modem -> Modem - Sony Ericsson W550 USB WMC Data Modem ->Put Vodafone in ISP Name -> Phone Number : *99***1# ->Then Next and Finish.
10. Now connect to Internet using this account and you will be online.

If there is any problem then don't worry as you can always contact to Customer Care (111) for any help.

The net speed is not very fast as Broadband but still its good enough for general surfing.

The Method is more or less same for all other mobile phones and by using bluetooth also.

So Enjoy Unlimited Surfing.

My life is going to change

Very soon my life is going to enter into new phase. After 21st October 2007, it won't remain same. I don't know whether I am prepared for it or not but I am accepting this.

Due to this I was unable to pot on the blog for such a long time. There was anther problem. My Internet was not working and I don't prefer to post from Cyber Cafe but now I have activated Vodafone Mobile Conect on my cell phone and now I can use unlimited Internet for a monthly rental of 499 Rs. It was not easy as I had to convert my prepaid mobile to postpaid mobile.
Then I activated the Vodafone mobile connect facility but I didn't received the settings so I filed a complaint in Customer Care, they informed me that they will contact me back in 48 hours and thus my Internet was active on 10th oct 2007.

I will post the method for Sony Ericsson's W550i in my next post so that anybody who wants to get it activated on Sony W series mobile phones then they can use the method.

Very Busy these days

These days I was very busy so I couldn't post any thing for so long time. Actually first of all my free net stopped (Now BSNL started charging 2 paisa per kb for net access) then I didn't got time to go to cyber cafe.

I also started investment in Share Market and then I also started Mobile phone selling.

These days were also important as on 28th August I met someone. I will post more about that when I will get some confirmation from that stuff. Till then bye.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows

Finally I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Before reading it I thought Deathly Hallows will be reference to some places where Dark Lord might have hidden his Horcruxes. But to my surprise they were referred to something else, something more powerful than death.

I may not be able to do full justice to this book as it is great and it covers all the loopholes in any previous Harry Potter book and all the questions are answered.

There are many deaths in this book, including the death of Hedwig which dies in the beginning.

Currently I am writing a full review which will be based on all the 37 chapters of this book and I will post it very soon. May be in One or Two days.

Till then I will recommend that you must read this book as it is better to read the book than to go through a review and have a overview of the book.

Back after long time

I am posting after a long period of time. I was too busy these days. I also did a lot during this period, read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (I will post a separate review later), Started Share Trading through ICICIDirect.com, Stayed in touch with friends and then also done all the work asked by parents (too funny na).

Anyway I am also busy with a software to be developed for the P.F. of Kisan Sahkari Chini Mill. I had a lot of trouble with it as I am not a pro at MS Access and it has to be made entirely on MS Access. I overcame a lot of problems with logic and a help with VB Programing. Now I have to make some final touches for it. This took a lot of my time in past week and will be completed on next week.

There are many things I have to share but right now I am sitting at my shop and my mind is not fully concentrated, so I think I will post them all later.

Ek Chalis Ki Last Local

This is a bollywood movie which is a bit out of routine. Its a nice movie and I enjoyed watching it. First time I liked any movie just because the scenes and timings were great.

All the situations in this movie were so natural that you might not even think that this is a movie but still its a great movie to watch and above all it is available on Moser Baer at cheapest possible price. VCD @ Rs. 34 and DVD @ Rs. 45.

The acting by Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia was good, the story was nice and the direction was superb. I watched this movie Just because of one song which gives the overview of the movie. The song is "Laree Chuti", This song was not in the movie but is on the soundtrack of Ek Chalis Ki Last Local.

Must watch for all movie fans.
